a long time ago

i was a mermaid

in a lake

in a valley

where the sea turtles

came for vacation

and i turned to them

and said

'welcome to my lagoon.'

a few minutes ago

i wished to be something

more than that mermaid

this was a mistake

because now

instead of my watery lagoon

i live in a fiery pit

of hell.
