Audrey, Wait! is a fabulous book about what happens when a teenager is inadvertently thrown into the spotlight when her ex boyfriend writes a song about her that becomes famous. She is driven nuts by the paparazzi and how the people in her life are suddenly treating her like she is untouchable. Instead of welcoming the free goodies and new "friends," Audrey freaks out. But of course in the end she stands her ground and even helps out her ex who she realizes never meant to screw her life up. Also I wish her new boyfriend happened to be a real guy. lol

You Are Here by Jennifer E. Smith
I feel so cheated when i find a book at the store or library that seems like it's going to be a great read, and then it sucks. whats worse is when the story has the potential to be so good if only it were better written. this is the case with You Are Here by Jennifer E. Smith. I feel so bad putting it down., but it just isnt tickling my fancy. I'm going to give it one last shot.. one more chapter couldnt help :)

Michelle Tea's Rose of No-Man's Land
this book was very different from most books i've read recently; this is probably because it is a lgbtq novel. i felt that it was an accurate portrayal of a girl who felt like she was on the outside looking in; it wasn't so much about her being a lesbian(although, to be honest, the reader never knows her exact sexuality. i'm assuming she's a lesbian, but she could be bisexual or something similar; one site describes her as genderqueer). what i loved most about this book was that she made such a huge journey in a span of about 12 hours or less, and it didn't have a happy ending like most books and movies always strive for. fuck happy endings. read michelle tea.

creepy people
there are some creepy people out there. and some of them probably don't even know that they are creepy. there is this guy who manages a dunkin donuts that i sometimes go to with my friends. barely often enough to be a regular. however, he knows exactly who i am no matter what i am wearing or how my hair is. he knew when i cut my hair. he said i looked glamourous, like an old hollywood movie star. like marilyn. when i walk in, he appraises me, and when i leave he stares at me. he engages me in strange conversation. i just want my coffee, dammit! oy vey.
